Passover

My children are learning so much about a different culture and gaining a better understanding of the world. What more could I ask for

We have been here three months!!! Where has the time gone ? The boy's are already on Pesach Break (Passover)

They had a festive celebration at school today ...With a special feast of bitter herbs, sweets, and the traditional matzah bread. They read from the Haggadah (similar to Exodus in the Old Testament)

Caden was surprised to learn the day before Passover is often called the Fast of the Firstborn. Firstborn males in the family fast in remembrance of the fact that firstborn Jewish males were spared during the slaughter of the firstborns in Egypt. I told him not to worry because we were still celebrating Easter : )

I was dumb enough to ask Mason's teacher if this was real wine

Hi there...

I've been reading your blog for a couple of months now. I stumbled on it completely by accident (I had a Google alert for my kid's Jewish school here in the States and the word "Gesher" happened to appear in one of your blog entries, I think), but I've been fascinated by everything you've posted.

I've been to Israel three times -- but my approach to it was very different having grown up with a Jewish background. You and your family are there with very different circumstances -- and it's refreshing and interesting to see everything through your eyes as first-time residents and explorers.

Keep on writing -- I look forward to enjoying more!

Have a happy Easter...
